A few details in case you are not familiar with the ROY G BIV photo challenge... Artists Jennifer Coyne Qudeen & Julie Booth started this project a few years ago. Each month is devoted to a different color of the rainbow, and once we explore
all of these we will move on to other colors later in the year. Everyone is welcome to join in the search. Please visit Jennifer & Julie's blogs for links
to each month's participants. Guidelines are here.

Loving these greens...especially the close-ups! Thanks for playing this month.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie... I am so glad the leaves weren't stripped at the bases (which would have left just a bed of leaves). One of those unexpected surprises!

These greens are almost too beautiful to eat...they make the best bouquet!
ReplyDeleteI must say that I certainly got my enjoyment's-worth by first displaying the green blossoms in various bowls & vases, and then finally being able to eat them. I find the layers of leaves that make up each "flower" to be quite delicious!

Beauty before consumption. Love that. And as always, totally beautiful photographs Lisa.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susan... And, yes, "beauty before consumption" is a great catch phrase - thankfully my daughter thinks it's a funny fact of life in our household!

I love that they are flowers before they are food! It felt very spring-like and lots of fun to be in the kitchen/studio with you today - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHello Fiona ~ I know - the fact that they are flowers before food delights me what seems an inordinate amount, but there you go : ) Thank you!

They are like green roses - lovely!
ReplyDeleteHello Linda ~ Yes - and I suppose extra special because green roses are rare...I did discover a bush at the local rose garden a few years back, and find them quite fascinating. They were quite small, with thin/almost spiny petals - very different from these voluptuous chicory "blossoms" - !

As always, Lisa, your photos are delicious in all senses of the word. I am always so envious of the wonderful lighting effects you get. You make even the most mundane of objects exceptional!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Margaret. I am so lucky to get a few hours of afternoon light in the apartment - it makes such a difference when taking photos...and is often the inspiration to pull out the camera. Thanks for stopping by - I am returning to Julie/Jennifer's blogs now to look for links to other "green" posts!
