As you can see, the sun did come out in Venice...interesting to contrast the cooler pinks on my first day there with the photos I took on a sunnier day. While pink is not a color I am normally drawn to (unless it's as "hot" as pink can be, as in fuchsia), I do love the endless rosy shades everywhere you look in Venice. In fact, I realized on this trip that Venice wouldn't be Venice without pink!

{P.S. I haven't made it to see everyone else's PINK yet,
but am looking forward to this month's ROY G BIV tour.}
love the pink reflections!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am quite fascinated by reflections, and there's nowhere like Venice for some absolutely amazing ones : )
DeleteOh, what glorious shades of Venetian pink and rose... Thank you for sharing these lovely photos! I like all of them so much, and the way you paired them with similar shades of reflections on water - brilliant!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you enjoyed my "pinks!" I almost thought about just posting the Venetian reflections, but I love how it's always so easy to find photos "above water" that play off the reflections (even if they are taken in different spots).

your photographs have capture the Venice I remember and love beautifully. Love all those pinks, and as you say, where would Venice be without them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in for a look, Susan...I'm glad the photos recall the Venice of your memories. It's funny, I don't think I ever realized before just how integral pink is to Venice!

Inspiring!!! You have such a knack with water reflections. So much lovely warm pink...and this comment is coming from someone who is not "into" pink! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the pink (not being "into" it), but am grateful for the "excuse" of ROY G BIV to have made some new discoveries about Venice...to have seen it through rose-colored glasses, so to speak! I must admit I welcomed having some direction as I walked around with my camera in hand. On past trips I have taken thousands off photos in a few days, but I appreciated having a focus this time - it made the experience more enjoyable/less overwhelming!
